A student opened fire at a high school in Washington
state on Friday, wounding an unknown number of victims before killing
himself with a gun, the Seattle Times reported.
Local media reported that at
least two people were wounded in the shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck
High School north of Seattle and were being air-lifted to a local
hospital. Their condition was not immediately clear.
The Seattle Times, citing two
law-enforcement sources, said the suspected assailant was dead from a
self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A spokeswoman for the Marysville
Police Department confirmed to Reuters that there had been a shooting
at the school and that a "crisis was under way." She declined to give
any further information.
The Seattle Times said ambulances were staged around the school and
