International Space Station resupply ship 'lost' and will fall back to Earth

A Russian supply ship which was due to dock with the International Space Station has been declared a total loss after it went into an uncontrollable spin after launch.
The spinning Progress 59 ship can be seen in this Nasa video.

The unmanned craft began tumbling shortly after its launch yesterday from Kazakhstan. At the time of launch, the ISS was flying about 257 miles over north east Kazakhstan near the Russian border, having flown over the launch site two-and-a-half minutes before lift off.
It has now been declared a total loss, the crew of the International Space Station said.

American astronaut Scott Kelly and Russian cosmonaut Mikhail Kornienko said flight controllers have given up trying to command the cargo carrier.
Kelly said the vehicle will fall out of orbit and re-enter the atmosphere sometime soon. His views have been echoed by former ISS commander Chris Hadfield.
