Vadim Bezkorovainiy, 33, of Old Bedford Road, Luton, is charged with preparation for acts of terrorism between January 27 and March 15 last year.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the offence when he appeared before the Old Bailey via video link from custody.
Judge Timothy Pontius QC adjourned the case until November 2 when his three-week trial will start at the same court.
