This is the latest video capturing the powerful activity of a volcano in Indonesia.
Mount Sinabung, located on the island of Sumatra, is one of about 130 active volcanoes in the country.
The video was captured just as dawn was breaking on June 23 (local time) and shared on the Sakurajima volcano’s Facebook page with a message: “I started to record as I saw pyroclastic flows light up as (they) flowed down the side of Sinabung just before sunrise.”
Pyroclastic flow is a high density mixture of hot, dry rock fragments and hot gases which can often include ash.
Activity at the volcano had also been spotted late on Monday night as these pictures show.
Mount Sinabung was dormant for 400 years before an eruption in 2010. It is situated on the Pacific Ring Of Fire, an arc of volcanoes and fault lines encircling the Pacific Basin.
Earlier this month, authorities started evacuating villagers from near the volcano, which had been rumbling for weeks. They have been closely monitoring the 2,460-metre volcano since June 2, when its threat status was raised to the highest alert level.
This was the scene on June 17 as Mount Sinabung spewed ash into the air.
