A body found in the search for missing schoolgirl Amber Peat has been confirmed as her and the cause of death revealed to be hanging.
The 13-year-old had not been seen since leaving her home in Bosworth Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England, at around 5.30pm on Saturday after a row with her parents.

Two officers found her body near her home on Tuesday.

Superintendent Matthew McFarlane said: “Sadly this was not the outcome that any of us were hoping for.”
Amber’s mother Kelly and stepfather and Danny said they would always remember Amber for her love of singing and dancing.
In a statement they said: “She was never happier than when reading to her younger sisters and being surrounded by her family. We will always be grateful for our last family holiday with our beautiful daughter. We will always miss her.”

Mike Smith, the principal at the Queen Elizabeth’s Academy in Mansfield, where Amber was a Year 8 student described her as “academically bright”, and a member of the academy choir who loved singing and dancing.
He said: “Amber has been happy at the academy. Students who have been particularly affected are being supported by staff and trained counsellors.
“This is a close-knit, community academy and everybody is supporting each other at this difficult time.”
Dozens of floral tributes, along with teddies and other mementoes, have been laid around a large tree near to where the body was found.
