Microsoft unveils more from its 'greatest games lineup' with Quantum Break Crackdown 3 and more!

Before E3, Microsoft revealed that it had too many games and would hold some back until Gamescom. Today, Microsoft showed off the other games that it says makes up its greatest games lineup ever.
First up was Quantum Break. Remedy’s Sam Lake took to the stage to talk about this project, which is part game and part live action show. It features big name stars, including Aiden Gillen and Dominic Monaghan, and it looks intriguing to say the least. The game will focus on the heroes, while the TV show takes the side of the villains. Quantum Break is coming on April 5th, 2016 and you can see its trailer here

Crackdown 3 was one of the most anticipated titles expected at Gamescom, and it didn’t disappoint. ReAgent’s Dave Jones spoke of a massive new city, which offers an open-world experience and one in which the team has worked to set a new bar to allow players to do anything. It is ReAgent’s vision of “the ultimate sandbox.” You can take down the shifting criminal hierarchy in any way you choose.
And Microsoft’s Cloud was finally referenced after being left out in the cold for some time. Crackdown 3 will use the power of the cloud to support a multiplayer experience in which 100% of the environment is destructible. Crackdown 3 will be released in summer 2016.

After his Twitter outburst, it was left up to Platinum Games’ Hideki Kayima to show off Scalebound. He revealed that you can explore the huge world on foot or on the back of a dragon. Seems like an easy choice…The gameplay demo showed off some combat, compete with RPG elements like loot drops, XP, and hit points. Scalebound will feature four-player co-op. It will be released during Holiday 2016.

Killer Instinct Season 3 will be released in March 2016. It will be released on both Xbox One and Windows 10, and all content carries across. Guest characters will be joining the roster, including Rash from Battletoads.

Mojang’s next project, Cobalt, is coming to Xbox One as a console exclusive. It’s designed with couch multiplayer in mind, complete with a variety of multiplayer maps and modes, as well as an extensive story mode. It will be released in October 2015 on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.

One of the more chilling trailers showcased during the conference was for Homefront: The Revolution. The game puts players in the shoes of a leader of the Resistance who wages guerrilla warfare against a superior military force. It will feature a single player campaign and a multiplayer mode. Xbox One owners will get exclusive early access to The Revolution’s beta this winter.

EA’s Nick Channon took to the stage to talk FIFA Ultimate Team and revealed that a number of new Legends are coming to FIFA 16, exclusively on Xbox One. They include George Best, Ryan Giggs, and Alesandro Nesta, among many others.
Another Xbox One exclusive on the roster is Halo 5: Guardians. The trailer highlighted game modes like Arena, a pure 4-vs-4 competitive mode, and Warzone, which allows for massive 24-player battles. The game is “primed for players,” but perfected for pros. It will be released in just 85 days.

343 Industries announced the launch of the Halo World Championships, which will feature a $1 million prize pool. More information will be revealed soon.
If open world games of late have been a bit too dry for you, Just Cause 3 may be what you’re looking for. The trailer is packed with explosions and over-the-top antics. It looks like a lot of fun.
Also going bigger than ever is Forza 6, which will feature a whopping 450 cars. Forza 6 was described as the most technically advanced and beautiful entry in the series. The focus of this particular trailer is racing in the rain and goes to show how realistic the game will be and the work that goes into development. Forza 6 will be released on September 15th.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will feature a huge map to explore with tombs, wildlife to hunt, and plenty of material to forage. The trailer showcased Lara working out the best way to approach a particular situation and take down enemies or simply distract them so she can move on. Looks like she’ll be able to take down multiple enemies at once, which should be fun. Rise of the Tomb Raider will be released on November 13th, 2015.
343 Industries was given the honour of closing Microsoft's conference with the announcement of the Xbox One and Windows 10 exclusive, Halo Wars 2. It will be released in autumn 2016.
Microsoft revealed backwards compatibility at E3 and it seems to have struck a chord with Xbox One owners. More than 3 million votes have been cast so far for titles that players would like to see made backwards compatible. Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra said that all future Xbox 360 Games with Gold titles will be playable on Xbox One via backwards compatibility. It is coming to all Xbox One owners in November.
